about me
Tom Dixon is a filmmaker driven by curiosity, adventure, and a love for stories that connect people with the natural world.
For the past two years, he’s been travelling the globe by tall ship, filming conservation projects in some of the planet’s most remote and beautiful places. From the Galápagos to Tasmania, Tom has worked in challenging environments, often in small, close-knit teams — adapting quickly, thinking creatively, and always finding a way to tell the story.
He’s a qualified drone pilot, rope access technician (IRATA1, BCAP), and Advanced Open Water Diver, with a strong focus on bringing technical excellence to creative work. Whether it’s climbing into the canopy, filming from a moving boat, or flying drones at sea, he brings a practical, problem-solving mindset to every shoot.
Off set, Tom’s a lifelong tinkerer — building camera gear, dabbling in electronics and code, and always looking for new tools to push what’s possible. His background blends storytelling with science, exploration, and craft — and he’s always up for a new challenge.
Tom owns and operates a Sony FX6 and A7S III, along with a DJI Mavic 3 Pro (GVC qualified with CAA Operational Authorisation). His kit is geared toward agile, high-quality production — well suited to expedition filmmaking and remote fieldwork. He also uses an underwater housing for the A7S III, and has access to audio gear and editing tools, allowing him to be fully self-sufficient on location.
